How do I get an American Express gift card if under 18?

Do I just walk in to a bank or something with $50 cash and say, "Here's some money, give me a gift card" or do I have to go through an overcomplicated registration procedure? Do I have to give my name, address, and parent's consent or something? Will by purchases be tracked? Can I even get a gift card at under 18?

You can go to a convenient store and buy one and they'll ask how much money you want and thats it.

No you don't have to be 18.
At least I know anyways because I used to buy stuff online all the time.
All you have to do is register it online by yourself and voila you're done

You don't need to go through a registration procedure to get the card.
You do need to go through a registration procedure to be able to use the card online.
If you get the card and don't go through the registration procedure, then you can't use the card to make purchases online, but you can keep the card. You probably won't get your money back.
