There's no hope you are now a "hopeless case".

Get into a new band or artist.

Make the person listen to other bands that might catch their interest more so that they no longer want to listen to One direction. Or just tie them to a chair and make them listen to other music until they give up One Direction and pursue other bands that aren't attracting so much hate and are actually really good and widely accepted.

The plague is already nearly irradiated. Just avoid the remaining victims, usually pubescent girls, and you should be safe.

Listen to a different band...get another infection.

Stop yourself from listening to the band! I did this in 2010 and got out before I even got sucked in to the One Direction fandom

It's not an infection. You have a good enough musical taste to prefer One Direction to all of that near-talentless autotune pop dance junk.

Billboard called One Direction the best classic rock band that doesn't play instruments and wasn't even born in the 80's. Rolling Stone likes them too.
