Sometimes I think that the cost of living is so high, that I can never be independent and I would rather just be dead. Ever feel that way?

Navigating life is difficult when you're young. Cost of living is not bad at all now. Clothing is dirt cheap and cars hardly ever need repairs compared to the past, When I graduated High School, housing interest rates were like 18% it was impossible to buy a home. I rented until my 30's. The best way to approach it is to first have a goal in mind (like home ownership in a certain city) save money each week for your goal, sooner or latter, interest rates and home prices will be low enough to buy....it could take years, but it goes in cycles. Until then, what I did was start out with roomates, I had to do that for at least 8 years. learn to cut corners on transportation, food, entertainment, etc.

that should tell you that you either need to get a better paying job, or move someplace where it is cheaper to live. Remember, if we live by need, NOT greed, most of us can live !
