Flying the delta?

The airline does not matter when it comes to security rules.

You cannot take any liquid greater than 3.4oz through security. All liquid items must be in containers 3.4oz or smaller, and must all be placed in a single 1qt clear baggie. You can only have as many items as you can fit into that baggie. These rules are the same for all passengers, no matter the airline. There are no exceptions to this rule. If you want to take your perfume, it would have to go in a checked bag.

Delta allows you to take a carry-on and a personal item. Your backpack would be your carry-on and would go in the overhead bin; your purse would be your personal item and would go under the seat in front of you. Make sure your backpack meets the size restrictions of a carry-on with Delta. You can find that information on the Delta website.

For starters Delta does NOT have any say when it comes to what can be brought onto a plane. That is TSA's decision. NO u can not bring an 8 oz bottle of any liquid through security. It will be confiscated or u will have to pay a fee to ship it back to your house. U can bring a backpack for clothes and store it under your seat or in the overhead bins

Also I got a 8 fl oz fragrance and I wanted to know if they wouldn't let me take that on the plane with me in my carry on.

Yes, you can take a bag (aka backpack) plus a personal item (person). But between the two you can only have one quart size ziploc bag of liquids and none of it can be more than 3oz per container.

You are allowed to bring a quart-sized bag of liquids, aerosols, gels, creams and pastes in your carry-on bag and through the checkpoint. These are limited to 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) or less per item.

Pack items larger than 3.4 ounces or 100 milliliters in checked baggage.

They do not care if it EXPENSIVE.

Are the rules that complicated?
The term is ALLOWED You can take what fits in your One quart Bag. EACH item must be less than 3.4 Ounces. in size.

If your backpack FITS it can go as Carry On. You are not required to stuff your bag to Bursting Capacity.

To expand on MS's answer, once through security, you can buy larger sized liquids and bring them on the aircraft as long as you can fit them in your carryon or personal item.

So the restrictions that are for the security checkpoint, are not the same rules as to what can go on the aircraft. 2 different set of rules/restrictions.

8 ounce size of any liquid must be in a check bag. 3 oz is the maximum liquid size allowed for a carry on.
