In the right triangle ABC shown to the right the length of AB,BC, and BE are 20, 15, and 6, what is the length of DE?

Since DE and AB are parallel,DE : AB = EC : BC
DE : 20 = 9 : 15
DE*15 = 20*9
DE = 20*9/15 = 12 ..... Ans
