Do you like the Harry Potter book or movie more.?

The movies are well made and I enjoyed watching them (apart from Order of The Phoenix but let's pretend that didn't happen).
However the books are much better, you get the full story; the movie directors left some backstory things out as it "wasn't that important" and lots of things had to be left out from the longer books so it could be condensed into a movie (*cough* Order of The Phoenix *cough*).
Yeah, if you couldn't tell, I really didn't like the Order of The Phoenix movie. It's my favourite book in the series, and the movie didn't even come close to doing it justice.

I know if I comment the Movies, then I'm going to get a bucnh of defensive fans disliking MY OPINION.
Well, sorry honey but I prefer the Movies.
Actually, I've only read a few chapters of the first HP book and I had to put it down because I couldn't stand it. The Movies are already set in my mind and I cannot get them out of my head.
I do not like the HP Movie where Robert Patterson is in it, that's my least favorite Movie of the bunch... But the rest are fantastically made. I could watch them all over & over again!

The producers did an outstanding job with the movies, but the books hold more detail. It was truly magical (not sorry about the pun) to see what I'd imagined in my head brought to life like that. Writing and producing are both an art. I can't pick between an art and an art; both are important and amazing. Both the movies and the books are equally fantastic.

I'm not a Harry Potter fan. Just getting that out of the way.
When I was younger I watched a movie with Kevin Costner called "The Postman". It was a post apocalyptic sort of story and back then I didn't know it was based on a book. I enjoyed the movie at the time. But then, a couple of years ago, I found the book it was based off of by David Bryn and it was SO much better! There are just some things you can't fit into a 2 hour movie that reading text conveys so much better.

I really liked the movies when I first watched them, which was before I read the books. However, after reading the books, I would have to say that the books are most definitely better.

I not done with the books yet. I love Harry Potter movies.
