It does appear that way for the Answers part of Yahoo. We don t know that and they sure would not let us know in advance but as long as it remains active no matter the content it is still going to allow them to get ad
revenue and that is what matters to them.
I doubt they care about just what the site has become and likely never bother to look.
As long as the Y!A site is enabling them to sell ad space they will keep it open.
The basic functions are still working as in we can ask and answer questions so that helps the site look active and helps the ad revenue so anything else is not that important to Yahoo.
This is Yahoo and nothing gets fixed for the better that affects those who use the site, maybe it is far down their list of things that matter they may or may not ever fix what is broken.
They keep making changes but none are made based on what users are asking for but by those who never actually use the site.
Maybe they need new technicians that would be better at fixing things.
