Online tutorials say to remove battery before replacing any parts, but my battery is internal. What should I do first?

ASUS X551C, Ultimately, I want to remove the wireless card and move it into my desktop. All of the online tutorials say that I should remove the battery and unplug the device before taking any screws out, however this laptop has a built-in battery that cannot be removed. I know nothing about laptops, and this is my first time trying to replace/remove parts. Please give me basic instructions while assuming that I have no idea what's going on lol.

You can't move the wireless card in to your desktop as it won't have the correct slot. You need a mini PCI-e slot and it's unlikely to be present in a desktop. Also even if you had a mini PCI-e slot there would probably be a whitelist in the BIOS so only a certain brand of cards would be recognised.
As you have no idea what you are doing there is a high risk you will damage some of the delicate connectors and cables so don't do it. The whole idea is a non-starter
If you want wifi on your desktop buy an internal desktop wifi card or simpler a USB wifi dongle - they aren't expensive
