Do you think alcohol should become illegal ?

I am teetotal and I manage to enjoy life without being intoxicated. So why sell something that only brings society down ? Don't you think it's sad that we rely on people getting drunk to help drive our economy ?

That was tried. Didn't work. Alcohol does not "only bring society down". Like almost anything else you care to name, it has benefits when used properly and disadvantages when not used correctly.

Never heard of the 18th and 21st amendment to the US constitution I see!

Didn't work then. won't work now.

Yeah, this is why people find teetotallers irritating. You're not happy doing your own thing; you have to spoil everyone else's fun as well.

Well, if you say it is the right thing to do, then we should do it. I think every law in this country should be based on what you think is right.

What do you think of the Iran deal?

Yes, it should just "become" illegal on its own. It shouldn't be made illegal, though.

Read a history book. Under Prohibition, but people drank more and, due to the efficiency of transporting liquor over beer, switched from innocuous drinks like ales and ciders to hard liquor and brought a ton of organized crime along with it.

Good for you for not drinking alcohol, but leave other people out of it. Jews don't eat pork, but you don't see them trying to ban bacon. Get a clue and let other people live their lives.

No, but we should ban food. Too many people in the USA are overeating and becoming obese, with high blood pressure, strokes, and other problems. That should work about as well as Prohibition did.

In addition, you are completely ignoring (or are unaware of) the many health benefits of moderate alcohol consumption.

If you want to see what happens when alcohol is banned look at Prohibition in the USA in the late 20s and early 30s.
Some towns were so convinced that all crime was linked to alcohol that they demolished their jails. Idiots.

We already know that making it illegal doesnt work, even so its very easy to make beer, wine or spirits in your toolshed or laundry with only basic equipment and skills, the commercially available product might taste nicer because they have been making it for a lot longer but I know some guys who have made homemade beer and wine that is just as good or better than anything you can buy

If you were to try alcohol then you would be in a position fot comment. As you haven't then you know nothing about it.

Prohibition has been tried and is still practised in some countries; it doesn't work.

We tried it. It didn't work. Moving on...
2015-09-17 9:56 pm
We tried that once; it was called PROHIBITION and it didn't work out too well.
2015-09-14 8:55 pm
No
Tried it once, caused a large increase in criminal behavior
2015-09-14 4:54 am
No. Alcohol has been a part of society for generations, it will never be illegal again like it was in the 1920s.
2015-09-14 4:41 am
No.

Obviously................

Read your history again. It was made illegal and that was disastrous. It poured vast amounts of money into the coffers of criminals, just like drugs being illegal now.

no, not at all.

you are only here in the world to control your own life and not everybody elses. don't be such a busybody and let people relax how most people do with a beer or glass of wine.you shouldn't try to interfere with what other people spend their own money on.

my grandma argued that it did work because the people who sell drugs now sold alcohol with few people drinking much because it was expensive to replace any alcohol consumed but since I like to have a couple of drinks a month and it can be beneficial to health in moderation and I like near wine country I would say we don't need to do that. I think the heavy infringement of drunk and reckless driving laws has reduced the amount of alcohol consumed a great deal already.

Your an instant 4ssh0le no need to add alcohol.. Most people need to relax after a long day at work and you'll find most in the blue collar fields like to come home to an ice cold beer. Just my Red Neck opinion

I think we should only drink it in moderation, it shouldnt be illegal that is silly.
