How do I Write an Equation for a Vertical Stretch by a Factor of 8?

This is on my Algebra 2 homework, and I don't understand how I'm supposed to write the equation. Can someone please explain?

Well, first you need an equation, before you can stretch it. Basically, just multiply all the y-value by 8. So if you have y = (something), then make it y = 8 (somethings)
