If racism is so awful then why are there so many racists in the United States?

Get a grip... Everyone has a racist streak... it's human nature The difference is THIS country has laws preventing those who don't have the good sense to control their racist thoughts from acting out on them.

The racists are the blacks and hispanics. They are given too much and do not appreciate it. So they ***** about it and call whites racists.

Racism is not right. It is something transferred from stupid parents on to stupid children. It also works both ways, form the people who are racists, to the people like Al Sharpton who continue to promote it. The best way to end it is to not be racists.
About the country: We have a lot of different people in the US and for the most part, it works for almost everyone. Everyone has the same opportunities to either move ahead, or stay where they are. For that alone, the US is the best place on earth. It is also why people flock to the US from all over the world. That ability to move ahead through hard work alone is the biggest drawing card for the US. Lets contrast that with other places in the world, Anyone flocking to Africa? Not really. Anyone moving to the mid east, other than Isreal? No, again, people are not moving there unless if there is a local war going on. Is anyone moving to Pakastan other than Afghans who are terrorists? Again Not really. People are moving to where you can either get ahead or have a good chance at a good life. That leaves the US, Canada, or Europe. So even with our issues, people keep coming here. But if you want to try someplace else, by all means go. Americans need a broader world view to understand what they really have. So certainly travel and see how others live, no matter where you live in the US, there is always some place that is worse or much worse. The people living in the Yucatan Peninsula near Chi Chen Itza really opened my eyes. It made me value what I had and my standard of living in the US. For you, travel and learn why people are risking their lives to come to North America(US and Canada).

you have to understand the ethos in the UK ie the rich the poor 1900s the poor were undeserving they were sub human but the same race masses of wealth from the Empire yet they deserved none they were sort of different but it wasn't racism yet I describe it I need an excuse to be selfish and be rich if not a foreigner my own people will be used to serve the same purpose some one has to shovel the ? and they must know that is their place because I am superior and I tell them so

Because no one cares if it's awful. If it benefits them, that's all that matters.

Everyone, without exception, is prejudiced. There are racists in every country in the world. Even in places like Rwanda where people are almost exclusively one "race," they have huge civil wars between ethnic groups whose only problem with those people is that their great-great-great-grandfather supposedly did something bad. It has nothing to do with the US. It's a problem of the human condition.
