Yes, there is definitely a connection between Yom Teruah and 1 Thessalonians 4:14-18. The Levites (priests) would blow the trumpet several times to announce the feast’s arrival. Jesus is not only Lord He is LORD. As you know, one day every knee shall bow and every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is LORD.

Paul wrote (First Corinthians) that if Jesus is not RISEN, then Paul's preaching AND the entire Christian faith is "...in vain".

But Matthew 18 reports Jesus promising that ANYTHING asked of the father, in the name of Jesus, WILL be given.

So, I'll agree that Risen Jesus is Lord, IF you trust the Bible enough to gather, with a few other Believers, and ask of the Father, in the name of Jesus, that Risen Jesus be allowed to manifest himself physically, as the bible says He did before, to a crowd of "over 500".

When Jesus DOES this, as promised, a LOT of us doubters will have our doubts put to rest.

A televised major sporting event will probably have a crowd of "over 500" in attendance, so that's as good a place as any to do what Paul said in First Thessalonians, and "Prove all things".

But if you tell me you believe Christ is Lord, based on the Bible, but do not TRUST the Bible to have accurately reported the Promise in Matt18, I see no reason to trust ANY of the bible.

Jesus is my friend and my teacher. He taught me about God. he taught me about God's kingdom. He taught me the only way to earn my citizenship of God's kingdom.
