Can you send money through email?

A guy is sending me money, and he said he'd do it through email. I got the email that said donation and it had his bank and how much he sent me. He told me I'd have to wait 24 hours and then to email him the bank name because the system would link my email to my account number so that I'd get the money...... I don't think thats possible tho?? Or can it happen? I've been googling all day to figure it out but I can't find anything so idk
