Yes, you can put it in your checked luggage but sometimes the do random checked luggages checks behind the scenes and may confiscate the dog food.

If you are travelling from the uk to Greece you can take meat products. If outside EU you can't. Tins are pretty heavy so you would not be able to take many in your travel allowance. If you had tins in your hand luggage they would probably make you throw them away as they are wet and over 100ml in size

In your hand luggage

leads and collars yes

canned dog food no

In your suitcase

leads and collars yes

canned dog food yes

Canned dog food is very heavy and not at all valuable.
If you really want to take dog food, take one of the various dry ones.

There is no aircraft reason that you cannot pack tinned food in your checked luggage. Don't pack it in your hand luggage.

However, you may not be allowed, by Greek Customs and Quarantine, to import it in to Greece. They have some odd restrictions. You must declare it, if you do not and are caught you will be in the poo, even if they would otherwise have let you bring it in.
