Can you finish an electrical apprenticeship in a different country?

I live in Canada and was wondering if I started an electrical apprenticeship here but wanted to travel to another country, would I be able to finish it there? Say I did two years of it here, can I do the other three years somewhere else?

Not likely.

Two issues stand out:
1 - almost all work visas will require you to have your papers already. As well, you will have to meet that country's standards. Not all electrical apprenticeships are the same. Chances of scoring a work visa, without the required paperwork are very low. Your only real chances are in a country with loose requirements. That means your papers won't be accepted at home.

2. When you return home, you won't be allowed to work as an electirian until you retake exams and prove you meet all Canadian and provincial codes. That can be costly.

No. That's a recipe for serious difficulties. You can only work in your country of citizenship - no employment visas for electricians, or any of the skilled trades (plumbers, carpenters, etc.). Since you are not qualified to work in another country, you cannot do an apprenticeship, which is on-the-job training. No visa!

When you return to your country, you have to pass occupational licensing exams. So you need to know your country's electrical system, building & fire codes, etc. Different countries are on different electrical systems - e.g. 120 v. 240 V, 50 v. 60 whatevers, and on & on. Meet one country's requirements, and you definitely will not meet some others'.

Righteous waste of your time as well as your money to spend even another minute considering this idea.
