direct substitution
10(1) + 11 / (1) + 1
= 21/2
The answer to 2 is correct. For 1, you need to find a value of a such that the numerator can factor with one of the factors being (x + 3) as this will cancel that term in the denominator and get rid of that pesky 0 in the denominator of the limit.
