So I'm going to be going to Texas Tech and walk on. A man I work with played at Baylor and told me Id be good at safety do to my size and I'm to small to play LB. I played every year up to senior year in hopes to get in the military but changed my mind so I'm wanting to play football again ha. I'm 5'10 180 pounds and bulking up to 205. Was he right about my size?

Why don't you aks the man you work with who played at Baylor?

How you gonna bulk up to 205 lb, with fat? You can't bulk up 25 lb of muscle in a year.

Btw, Texas Tech doesn't have open tryouts. Only walk ons there are preferred walk ons.

I highly encourage you to try out, and become a walk-on, for the Texas Tech University football program this upcoming season.

Based on your height and weight, I believe that you will make a very good fit at strong safety. You have the ideal size for a strong safety in college football.

My best advice for you is to work hard and perform very well in practice every day. In addition, what you need to do this autumn (and every offseason) is eat healthy, exercise by doing weight lifting, and either jogging or going for a long run every day. If you do these things, you will get faster, stronger, and into better shape, which will greatly improve your chances of becoming a successful, top notch strong safety in college football.
