It could be. Government agencies such as the US Fish and Wildlife Service, National Park Service, Bureau of Land Management, etc., are often looking for wildlife biologists, marine biologists, etc. Check out usajobs.gov. Most of these positions would require a Bachelor's at the minimum, but if you get experience through seasonal work (they often hire students in the summer), you might not need to go on for a Master's. Working at zoos or aquariums might be another option, but I don't know much about that. I worked for the NPS for a summer (not in biology, just as a park ranger/guide) and loved it.
