I finally have ten thousand in my bank account and I just turned 23 recently, by this age should I have more money in my bank account, what do you guys think?

That's a good start. Open a Roth IRA. The money you put in it will grow tax-free.

If 10k is your net worth (i.e. your debt subtracted from your savings), you're doing alright for your age. If you're not saving for retirement or not paying your debts off, then 10k is meaningless.

Resist the urge to tell others about your lump sum, they may give a sob-story, and try to borrow.
Accumulating sums of cash is the most difficult thing to do in life for most of us, so you are to be congratulated.
Don't pay cash for large purchases. A bank will give you a very low interest loan if you purchase a CD from them, and use it as collateral for a loan

It's not a competition. Many 23 year olds have debt from student loans, but that's better in the long run if they get a professional job out of it and end up making more than someone working a job they'll still be doing 30 years from now.
