How long does GPA count?

I need a high GPA to get into the school I want, but I don't know how long it counts for? Does it only count for senior year? All of high school? Middle school & high school? If you don't know what I mean, here: colleges have an average GPA that they accept (I know I have to do good on SATs and all that) but I don't know how far back they look at my GPA. Cause for my 7th grade year, my GPA wasn't good enough, and I wanna know if they'll count that.

Colleges look at 9th grade onward. Since you are probably applying during your senior year, they won't see the grades from the second half of your senior year.

Schools tend to give less importance to the grades you got in 9th grade. We know that this is a difficult transition year for many people.

Please find someone at your school who can help you understand how this works.

Most Us universities will want your unweighted cumulative GPA from the beginning of freshman year to end of junior year. You will apply first semester senior year. You will need to send in your senior grades.
Once accepted it is on the contingency of your senior grades

Colleges usually look at GPA from freshmen year until around 1st semester senior year. They'll check 2nd semester senior year to see if your grades are maintaining or improving, probably not for admissions purposes. Your counselor may have a better insight into the college admissions process, so try asking them and you'll get an insightful answer from someone who's experienced college admissions before. Good luck with college admissions!

They count what they ask you to send.
