Can a president serve more than 2, nonconsecutive terms?

Could a president serve more than 2 terms, after they'd not been president for a term, for instance, could George W. Bush run for president again since he didn't the last time? Or could Barack Obama run for president in the 2020 election?

No:

"No person shall be elected to the office of the President more than twice, and no person who has held the office of President, or acted as President, for more than two years of a term to which some other person was elected President shall be elected to the office of the President more than once."

Once you've served six years, you are permanently ineligible from election for President.

Section 1. No person shall be elected to the office of the President more than twice...

There is no consideration for nonconsecutive terms.

No. The constitution states that a president may server 2 full terms, or if the president becomes president before two years have past into a 4 year term, for instance a president becomes president after 1 1/2 years as VP due to death of the current president, then he can serve the remaining 2 1/2 yrs, and 4 more.

no, but a president does not have to have consecutive terms. for example both Jimmy Carter and George HW Bush could run for election again since they only have one term completed. George W Bush and Barack Obama will never be on the presidential ballot again. They can't run for vice-president either.

When the 22nd Amendment was added, it didn't specify. More than likely, consecutive or not, it would be "No."

No. A president can only be elected to two terms. If they become president by succession, they can't serve more than 2.5 terms. Neither George W. Bush nor Obama can run for president again, although they could technically serve each for one more half term if they, somehow, became president again via succession. Now, George H. W. Bush could theoretically be re-elected again for one more full term, since he was only elected once and served one term.
