I had a death in the family and have been off work for a few days on bereavement but I'm going back tomorrow? Will they ask me for proof? Because I don't have any

A copy of the death certificate should do it.

1. Copy of the obituary.
2. Funeral home might provide a "note."

Thomas answered him, “My Lord and my God!” Jesus said to him, “Have you believed because you have seen me? Blessed are those who have not seen and yet believe.” (John 20:28-29)

MARANATHA! Come, Lord Jesus, COME!

you don't have the name of the funeral home? That will seem suspicious

They may.

It depends on the company. When my grandmother died, I brought in a copy of the obituary, just in case, but they said that they didn't need it. My current employer will give you unpaid time off for bereavement, but if you want pay, you need a copy of the death certificate.

The funeral home usually gives out letters for such things. If you didn't get one, ask.

not unless you have a history of excuses for missing work ... i wouldnt ask you about it, its kindof rude, but if your aunt died last month and your grandfather died 2 times last year .. yeah i'd make you bring a dna sample ..
