Don't be scared. This is a hoax. There are no large asteroids on track to hit Earth in September, or any other time in the foreseeable future.

If I may, I'd like to help you fine-tune your BS detector so you won't be fooled in the future. Here's how it works. When somebody tells you something like this, ask yourself these questions:

(1) How does this person know the information they are telling you? Are they a qualified scientist? Did they hear the information directly from a qualified scientist?

(2) If not, then where does the information come from? Sometimes you can trust information from the web, but only if it comes from websites that are super careful to check their sources before posting stuff. For example, if the NASA website said that we were going to be hit by a large asteroid in September, you might give it some serious thought. But if you just read this in some anonymous guy's blog, does it carry the same weight? Probably not. Check your sources.

(3) Are there other sources, especially more qualified sources, that have anything to say about the matter? All qualified astronomers who have talked about this say that it is a hoax, plain and simple. There are no large asteroids on a collision course with Earth, now or in the foreseeable future.

I hope that helps. Don't worry...we'll all still be here in October. Good luck!

Please state the source from which you heard the assertion.
Has that source proven reliable in the past?

At present there are NO known asteroids (bodies larger that 1 metre in size) with any possibility of hitting Earth in the foreseeable future. Because of recent efforts to locate and track all asteroids which come close to Earth's orbit, we are now at least 90% sure that there are no asteroids which pose a threat to Earth. NASA maintains a database of all such objects and their threat level, and currently there are no known asteroids with threat levels higher than zero.

No,

To be safe, you should pack your bags and leave. If it doesn't hit, you can always return.

It will hit, at roughly somewhere in central Amerixa or Africa( no racism) i think, but it will be lass that the size of a car, creating a crater at most 65 feet wide. Property damage sure, but not earth shattering.

No - I would be more worried that you appear to be an idiot (or just a troll)

With any scare stories like this (there are always plenty) just take the subject and add 'debunked', then Google it, eg: "Asteroid September 2015 debunked".

after reading this I hope an asteroid would hit the earth

Not this question AGAIN... look, if there really was one, you'd have heard all about it on trustworthy news bulletins by now, with quotes from NASA all about it.

People say a lot of things, and "something I heard" is usually complete bull****.

NOTHING IS GOING TO HAPPEN! OK now?
