does he have feelings?

So I like this year 10 guy and my friends and his friends teased me heaps last semester and so now we barely talk and if I approach him and his friends he'll go quiet and I'm not sure if it's cause he dislikes/hates me? He told me not to message him, asked why I was messaging and also has ignored me a couple of times. He's usually so nice and a lot of people on here say he's shy or hiding his feelings. Today I said bye to him and he said cya and I THINK it was to me cause no one else said bye that I heard. His friend also came to me (we were sitting near them) and he was going on about how I sat down and started staring at him (the guy I like) but it kinda sounded like a joke and apparently the guy I like was laughing when I did a head nod at his friend cause he said hi. So could he just be hiding his feelings? Or could he be shy? He also stares at me A LOT when he can see me! I'm also a bit younger...so could that be why he's hiding it?
