How long does it take to draw and release a comic book issue?

I've written a four issue miniseries (each issue at 15 pages) and I'm looking to independently hire an artist to draw up the panels for me to put them together and do the text. I was told to check Deviantart and I've found several artists who's style I like, but what sort of deadline should I set for that artist? And is Deviantart fine to use? Any other recommendations?

To release it you also have to look at the publishing side. A minimum print run of 5,000 copies is needed to get it distributed by Diamond Comics, one of the main comic book distributors. Any issues not sold are shredded (you don't get them back) and your cut is 1/4 of the retail price. The distributor and the store get the rest of the retail price. They only have it on the shelves for one month, then that's it, the shelf life is short.
