How do I make someone disappear?

I want to do a magic trick where I make someone disappear, but I don't want it too generic. I want to do a more creative version of making someone disappear

-Have a stage
-Set a trapdoor
-Have curtains be able to cover the trapdoor and a person
-Open the trapdoor when a signal is said
-Make sure person behind curtains is under the stage and trapdoor is closed again
-Open curtains to show no one behind it
that's one way of how to do the magic trick, I'm not sure of other ways
