1. There are some unofficial requirements:

a. The foreigner will need to have an account from a local bank, which current account is preferred.

b. The foreigner will need to have a local contact or an agent.

2. No, but difficult. The methods to get a mortgage approved are:

a. The foreigner have local income; or

b. The foreigner is able to secure a loan based on his/her foreign income. Banks will only do this with high-value customers with established relationship only.

3. No. But it is good to have one. Or the foreigner can designate an agent.

非香港永久性居民的人士購買住宅物業只須繳交新增的「買家印花稅」(BSD),稅率劃一為樓價的 15% 而已;
