on Virgin s website it says I can take hand luggage plus a small addititional backpack/rucksack. It doesn't say the dimensions of the additional small rucksack, however.
Does anyone who has flown with Virgin know how big the additional personal bag is allowed to be and how strict they are about it?
I have tried to upload a photo of my bag but Yahoo is having none of it... It's less than 5MB. The rucksack is tall and wide enough to fit a large laptop in, I would say.

It needs to be able to fit under the seat in front of you. Something the size of a laptop case would be fine. They aren't too strict at Virgin, in terms of specific dimensions for the personal item - as long as it fits under the seat, it will be fine.

the point of the extra item is it's for something you wouldn't usually have in hand luggage, i.e. a purse, laptop case etc a small backpack is fine but they wont allow it if it's full of stuff that otherwise would be in your first carry on.
