A marine biologist models a population P of crabs, t days after being left to reproduce, with the function P(t)=-0.00003t^3+0.008t^2+3.5t+600
assuming that this model continues to be accurate, when will this population become extinct?
A) 547
B)707
C)911
D)1512

If they are extinct P(t)=0

-.00003t^3+.008t^2+3.5t+600=0

This is best found by graphing the equation as factoring it would be ugly :P

From the graph it is easy to see that 547 is the point when the population drops to zero...
