Yes, you can install a nVidia Geforce GTX 970 to Intel P55 Chipset, but i won't reccomened you to do this because the P55 chipset's PCI-E 2.0 slot only have a PCI-E 1.0 bandwith (about 4 GB/s), and the GTX 970 is a mid-high end card, which need a PCI-E 3.0 slot and a 3.0 bandwith to make this card in full performance .I think you should get a new computer because your build's motherboard will bottleneck your card's performance. And also, P55 chipset is really old, the CPU will also bottleneck your 970's performace and this will affect your gaming perfomance.So, why not get a H97 motherboard and build a new PC?
