Math question?

I have a big problem solving this question.!

8-(2x+1)+(5-x)4=2-(5-3x)7

Here is how I tried to solve the question:

8-2x-1+20-4x=2+7(-5+3x)
27-6x=2-35+21x
27-6x=-33+21x
60=27x

I know the answer should be: x=4
But as you can this from my solving it Cleary doesn't end like x=4.
What did I do wrong? And how is the way to solve this question?

Your algebra is correct for the problem you wrote and 60/27 = 20/9 is the solution to that equation. So you either copied the question or the answer incorrectly.

Your working is correct
8-2x-1+20-4x=2+7(-5+3x)
27-6x=-33+21x
60=27x
x = 20/9

x=4 is not correct You put x=4 both sides LHS=3 and RHS=51

Should be 8-(2x+1)+(5-x)4=2-(5-3x)/7

Clearly that if you plug-in x=4 for the equation, it is not the answer.

Are the 4 and 7 exponents?

x=/= 4, x=20/9
