I can pray my period cramps away?

2015-07-16 5:27 pm
Whenever I have cramps, I ask God to take the cramps away, and they do! It works everytime but, sadly only last for a few seconds then the cramps are back, but not as intense. God is real.

I was raised as a Christian Scientist and never went to the doctor or had novocaine when I went to the dentist. Prayer works, it is a matter of mind over matter, but drugs work better. When I grew up, I finally gave up on this and took the novocaine. Why would an all powerful, all seeing, all knowing God really care whether I could endure pain or not?

Really? Try praying for a cure for cancer or AIDS, or something helpful to the whole of humanity, and tell us how that works out.

The placebo effect is real.

I have prayed sometimes too. No shame but I turn into a baby when I get a heavy period and cramps.

It only lasts for a few seconds because you need ibuprofen ir Aleve. Heating pad & warm baths.you can't pray physical pain away. The pain is real.

Clearly...you are a narcissistic idiot. In order to believe in a god...you have to be a narcissist.

I'm not too sure what point you're trying to make here, and I could come up with some kind of smart argument about religion, but no good will come out of that.
In a christian mindset,(as I do not nessisarily have I would say that God gives you this pain to make the female race stronger, and willing to endure more. Women live longer too, so all that time suffering we've spent, is exchanged in years of peace.

Unfortunately, woman inherited the sins of our first mother EVE. she became disobedient and greedy.(Genesis 2,3) God gave her every fruit or everything to her desire. but she wanted more. she wanted to be like God. so she ate from God's tree that he created for himself.(Psalm 83:18) however, she listened to a wicked angel Name Satan.(Genesis 3;1 John 5:19) With what result?

Genesis 3:16-23
16 To the woman he said: “I will greatly increase the pain of your pregnancy; in pain you will give birth to children, and your longing will be for your husband, and he will dominate you.” (NOW! all Woman have cramps during cycles and we have birth pains. thanks to Eve)

However, soon because of the ransom sacrifice of God's son Jesus Christ;(John 3:16,17) SOON! THERE WILL BE NO PAIN, NO OUT CRY! (Revelation 21:3,4)

The worse you eat, the worse you’ll feel. We know the first thing you want to do is reach for the chocolate or greasy fries but trust us, you’ll regret it later. Eat cleansing foods like fruits and salads to restore some balance to your out-of-whack body. Avoid sugar, flour-based products like bread and pasta, rich heavy food and anything with preservatives. Your tummy will thank you.

Take your Mulit-vitamin
We know remembering to take your one-a-day can be a tough task but come period time you’ll want to be religious about it. Zinc, calcium and B vitamins help to reduce cramps, bloating and other menstrual symptoms.

Do Some Light Exercise
You’re bloated, in pain and just want to veg out, but light exercise will ease your cramps. Try low impact workouts like yoga, Pilates or walking. Or you can just try these floor exercises: Lie down and elevate your legs by putting a pillow under your knees or lie on your side and bring your knees up to your chest to relieve back pressure.

Turn Up the Heat
Soothe those contracting muscles with a little heat. You can use a heating pad or soak in a bath with warm water with some essential oils like relaxing chamomile or lavender.

Go the Herbal Route
Herbal remedies such as Viburnum prunifolium, Scutellaria spp. and Cimicifuga raemosa have an antispasmodic effect (aka they suppress muscle spasms) that will help reduce menstrual cramps.

Drink Some Tea
A cup of chamomile tea will have a warm, relaxing effect on your body. Add in a few teaspoons of honey with is a natural pain reliever.

Sleep tight
In general, getting enough sleep is crucial to one’s health. But, believe us when we say, be especially diligent during pms-prone times. Interruptions in your regular sleep rhythms can interfere with your regular cycle and result in even more irritability, fatigue and stomach cramping.

Be patient.
God is currently busy helping starving African children and rape victims.

Last year my MOM got me a white iPad 3 instead of the Silver one I wanted and it took 5 WEEKS before god answered me!!!

He is selfish sometimes and I am even thinking about becoming Muslim because you can pray more with them and Allah helped my friend Kate get 300 likes on her Instagram photo yesterday!!! HE IS SO KIND

I will pray for you xxx

Take pamprin. the reason we get cramps from periods is the water bloat makes us swell up therefore tightens in the wrong muscles but do stay hydrated.
pamprin relieves this bloat swelling issues that causes cramps. you also lose fluids with minerals in them/.like magnesium. so take a vitamin with minerals.
參考: medical assistant and suffered all thru teen years until i heard about pamprin and minerals and a supplement from gnc called MSM. then it stopped.

ask your OBGYN for a prescription for something stronger than aspirin.
Do they still make Pamprin?

Dont eat salty foods; they cause water retention.

I like the TV show M*A*S*H and there is an episode where Hawkeye said something like 'Made makes the medicine but God does the healing'. That's almost a direct quote. There is nothing wrong with taking medicines and praying. You don't have to do an 'either or' and can do both. You can take the pills and pray for endurance, or pray that they work, or just say what you want.

God isn't real. So praying to some floating guy in the sky that doesn't exist will not make your cramps go away. Try medicine or oils to help.
2015-07-16 5:51 pm
As you may believe that,(and I do too) the reason your cramps go away for only a second is because you have gotten your mind off of it for a second. Distract yourself and stop thinking about the pain and it will get better
2015-08-03 6:41 pm
you can, but it wont help the cramp
2015-08-02 1:29 am
You know that if you believe in something and really really think it is real and you think it can take away pain, you will not feel the pain so much anymore because your mind tricks you kinda. im not saying god isn't real but as a person that have seen the world, seen many different religions, seen different people i see more and more that the reason why religions excist is just to feel safer, to have "someone" you can pray to to feel better. But sometimes somebody will misuse religion to have power, and that can be dangerous.

I grew up as a Christian Scientist and not went to a doctor or had novocaine after i went to the actual dentist. Prayer functions, it is the matter of thoughts over matter, but drugs are more effective. When I was raised, I finally threw in the towel on this as well as took the novocaine. The reason why would an just about all powerful, all viewing, all knowing Lord really care whether I possibly could endure pain or even not?

I believe in God but Mam Im very sorry that probs wont work so gooodluck;)

I'm not religious, but I totally respect your love for your religion, no hate. I come from a Christian family, though, and I will say, I think praying for pain to be relieved is doing more harm than good. It's like the one family who had a sick child, and would let him get treatment because they could pray through it, and the child died from the disease. Obviously, death is not as severe as cramps(I'm also a woman, I get the pain). I think that instead of praying for the pain to go away, maybe pray for the strength to endure it? If it hurts too bad, I recommend working out during your period(I know, it can hurt!) if you don't like having pills for it(like aspirin). By the way, I don't mean to seem rude or disrespectful at ALL. Just because we have different beliefs doesn't mean that we can't respect each other! :)

Okay God can't take your cramps away just like he can't take cancer from a patient. I am Catholic and I am saying that
2015-07-18 7:28 pm
So, because you have found out that the placebo effect works you think there is a god? Brilliant!
2015-07-17 10:31 pm
I know God is real as I was raised a catholic but every month when I prayed to God to ease the terrible cramps and migraines I had every month for over 40 years but my prayers were never answered?
2015-07-16 9:42 pm
good for u
2015-07-20 9:35 am
No you can t. If God did exist, what in the world makes you think that of all the people in all the world with all the suffering and all the pain, he would choose you over all of them to give a little respite from cramp? That s so incredibly conceited I can t even begin to explain. Period pain comes and goes. End of. Take a painkiller if it s that bad and get over yourself.
2015-07-17 7:42 am
good on you, now try praying that priests weren't pedophiles hiding behind a cloak and see if that stops the pain for many children
2015-07-16 5:29 pm
It take your faith..
