Timeline=last Mon.use the simple past.
In Fri.Mary (died. die, vt. died pt./pp.---dying pr. p. )If Mary died, use the simple past. Now you can use the simple past as you have explained above.Thanks.
sent=pt. & pp. of send
eg:-Mary sent her application form.

No offence.

Mary dies at Friday this week. ~ 錯
Mary died on Friday this week.

應該用 past simple,
不是 at Friday, 是 on Friday

News headline 才會用 dies (Present simple)

"1997: Princess Diana dies in Paris crash" ~ BBC News

知道Mary死左:
Mary had sent her application form before she died.

你應該問如何形容才是最好的,不是可以或不可以。

It is very important to note that it really depends on what you want to express in order to choose the appropriate tense.

1. 我地上個星期一收到Mary 張申請表
直譯:We received Mary's application form on Monday last week.
or
We have (already) received Mary's application form.

2. 佢今個星期五Mary死左
直譯:She died last Friday. (ie. Friday this week)
or
She has (just / already) died.

3. 宜家我地動keep 住佢張申請表
直譯:We are still keeping her applicaiton form.
or
We have kept her application form.
or
We still have her application form with us now.

宜家係米唔可以用"Mary has sent her appliction form." 黎形容?
If you must express your meaning using "Mary" as the subject and "send" as the verb, there are several ways of saying it.

a. Mary had sent her application form before Monday last week.
b. Mary had sent her application form before she died.
c. Mary sent her application form over two weeks ago.
d. Mary has already sent her application form and we have recieved it as well.
e. Mary has already sent her application form and we are still keeping it.
f. or, maybe more ...

"Mary has sent her appliction form." THE TENSE of this single sentence IS CORRECT BUT it does not reflect well the situation that you want to express.

If the action being always use present line which is past to future (+will).

( past ) ( future )
(present)
---------@-----------------@---------------@---------------------------------------------------------
l l l.......speaking at this moment.
l l
l l...Mary dies at Friday this week.
l (還是本週尚未完, 當今天是Sunday. 用present tense.)
l
l......Mary had sent her application form ( to us.)
(已寄的動作與現時無関, 用present tense 不恰當, 該用past tense.)

*時態跟Mary在與不在無関. 望你明白.

上個星期一收到Mary 張申請表
咁應該係用過去式(past tense)

Present Perfect Tense既用法係用於岩岩完左既事情

E.G.1: Peter has studied in secondary school for six years.
has studied☞ Present perfect (verb)
has☞ he, she, it
How long: six years

E.G.2: I have waited for my friend 15 minutes.
have waited☞ Present perfect (verb)
have☞ I, you, we, they
How long: 15 minutes

*has/have+p.p.*
*how long*
*until now☞ DONE*

Time line of E.G.1:

所以答案係Mary sent her appliction form.
