It was very odd finding Mr. Lee 's cat sitting on his desk this morning.
It was very odd that I find Mr. Klein's cat sitting on his desk this morinig

It was very odd finding Mr. Lee 's cat sitting on his desk this morning.

從中文翻譯可知所謂「好奇怪」 very odd 主要是 finding Mr. Lee's cat sitting on his desk this morning,所以這串動名詞片語才是 very odd 的主詞,因為太長所以用 it 來取代,先講出來,最後才講真正主詞的部份。

It was very odd that I found Mr. Klein's cat sitting on his desk this morning.

It is very odd finding Mr. Lee's cat sitting on his desk this morning.
It is very odd that I found Mr. Klein's cat sitting on his desk this morning.

this morning的時效只跟delayed subjects裡的finding/found有關。

It was very odd finding X this morning.
= It was very odd to find X this AM.
= To find X this AM was very odd.
= Finding X this AM was very odd.

Adverbial clauses may be reduced by changing them into;-
participial phrase containg -ing eg:-
As it is an odd fact that I find,(the cat)---------Adverbial clause

Odd finding,(the cat)---------participial phrase containg -ing

that--pronoun--that is used to make a person specific;

It is nearer to the speaker;

That's what I saw=The odd fact that I saw(In your explanation to cancel that,I)

as antecedent to a relative pronoun expressed=All those odd facts (that) i saw were odd.
=All those (that) I saw
=All those I saw
="that" acting as antecedent
