Received a Check in the mail ?

Hi, I received a check from a guy who hired me for a job in Craiglist and he is asking me to deposit it.I realized that the check i Received is Fake.Now what do i do with the check ? should i return it to the address,throw it out or report it to the cops ? Please help me ?

Turn it over to the police. Throwing it out will not stop the scams. Also I would look up the real company whose name is on the check and let their accounting office know that a scammer has counterfeited their checks so they can put a fraud alert with their bank to prevent any of these checks from going through

I would just destroy it and forget about it and then ignore any further email. You can turn it over to the police if you wish.
