After waking up early in the morning, I laid on the bed again and had a very light sleep(I did not intend to sleep again). When I became mostly conscious, I find it difficult to breathe or control my limbs or other body parts(feels like the whole body has been frozen). I struggled awhile to get back the control and it has to be in a fully conscious state that I will be able to control the parts well enough. When I fell into the light sleep again this struggling happens again. It is very frightening and it could feel I might die due to the inability to breathe.
This does not happen when I was sleeping normally at night. Rather, it happens when I am resting and fall asleep(not deep sleep!) unintentionally but still it is rare. It seems to me that my neurological pathways may not be functioning properly leading to the inability to control body parts and the feeling of being frozen.
Can anyone help me diagnose this?
