Please prove the light ray is shortest from the source to the receptor when angle of incidence equals to angle of reflection.

This is in fact Fermat's Principle of Least Time, which states that "light travels between two points along the path that requires the least time, as compared to other nearby paths". Both the Law of Reflection and Law of Refraction can be derived using Fermat's Principle.You may refer to the following web-page for the derivation:
