which brand of car is the best?

there is no best.
what if you want economy and reliability? in that case Honda or Toyota may be the best, but if you want speed or luxury, Honda and Toyota are not really good at all.
what if you need towing capacity? or off-road capability?
Honda and Toyota really start to seem like poor choices.

because of the hugely different needs that people have, there is no best.

as for which manufacturer has the broadest model range? i think Nissan and by extension Infiniti make a lot of different models ranging from ultra economic sub compacts, to high end sports cars, off road capable SUVs, pickup trucks, luxury cars, cargo vans, or commercial trucks.
they lack the dedication in things like speed and luxury to compete with companies like mclaren or rolls royce or the competitiveness in the pickup truck segment to go up against Ford as well as many other small segment details but they have a very complete model range which makes it hard for other companies to compete in all areas of car performance.

Toyota, I have had lots of cars and Toyota is the best, wish I could say American was the best, but it's not, it's a Toyota.
