It means they did their job perfectly, do it was money well spent.

Fortune tellers aren't really psychic, but they're not frauds either. They're professional entertainers.

That's why there's a disclaimer on their ads, and usually on their wall, that says "for entertainment purposes only" and lists a whole bunch of stuff they're not legally responsible for. The smart ones even have their customers sign a copy before the 'psychic reading' will even begin.

Fortune tellers don't actually know anything about you at all. They use a technique called the Forer effect (also called Barnum statements), and many of them do it really well. Their trick is to make an incredibly vague statement that is true for almost everybody, but they make it sound really specific and assertive.

They don't tell you they're guessing, because that would ruin it. But while they 'know' things about you that nobody could know, they're actually just making a safe guess. A professional psychic even showed me how they do it once, and I would have been less impressed if she actually had psychic powers. She did a reading that blew me away, and I asked how how she could know such specific details. She said "I didn't say I knew you almost drowned in a river when you were twelve, I said I sense that you had a frightening experience involving water when you were younger. That can be anything from a childhood fear of the toilet to being swept over a waterfall, because everyone has had a frightening experience involving water in their lives". She just mentioned water and younger, and my mind immediately drew the connection.

Another technique psychics use is called cold reading, which is basically the art of getting people to give you information without knowing they're giving it. Cold reading is so effective detectives use it when questioning suspects, and so sneaky it's usually not allowed in a court of law.

Combine those two techniques with a fortune teller's natural flair for performing, and the effect is dynamite.

The trick they use when they tell your future is the same as when they read your past: They make really vague statements, and it's up to you to figure out what they mean.

It means you're gullible, desperate, and just threw away a bunch of money on a scammer who's smarter than you are and told you things you wanted to hear. Are you 11?

It means they're pulling your leg. The accuracy of your birth chart is unknown so by claiming wrong time/karma, it sets up a figmented readings consisting of questions you answer revealing bits of information of yourself to the reader and then coming back at you with a futuristic fortune tale.
