BIOS not recognizing hard drive. Please help?

So I cleaned my computer recently and now when I turn my computer on windows doesn't load. I checked in the BIOS and it is because the Hard Drive isn't being recognized. This problem also happened when I built my PC(so it's not the hard drive), but the next day it worked.
-It's not the SATA ports because it worked before and all ports recognize my DVD Drive
-It's not the SATA Cable because it switched it with the DVD SATA and the DVD Drive works
Does my BIOS need an update/flash? If so, how do I backup my current BIOS?
Is it something else? What else can help?

Try removing and reseating both the SATA data cable and power cable. Both ends for the data cable.

The hard disk may be faulty & if still under warranty you may be able to send it back. If faulty, back it up & buy a new one.

Just make sure that all of your SATA and power cables are connected correctly, and if you have another SATA cable, try that to make sure the first one isn't bad.or try default/reset ur BIOS settings...if that doesnt work then I'd start with updating the BIOS and see what happens.
BIOS BACKUP>[[ http://www.hardwaresecrets.com/article/BIOS-Backup/41 ]]

or might be faulty HDD...backup ur data and get a new one............

Try going into bios settings and mess around with your SATA settings. Also put in a windows or Linux install disk or flash card and see if they recognize your hard drive. Your hard drive might be broken, happened to me took me forever to figure out.
