MacBook Pro retina screen replacement?

Apparently my asshole sister broke my laptop (MacBook Pro retina 13 inch) screen. It s functioning perfectly fine, but literally half of the screen is black. It s still under warranty though, so would I have to pay? If yes, how much?

The warranty only covers faults due to the manufacturing process and any sister (or other accidental) damage will cost you. It can cost anything from $300 to $800 depending on which parts need replacing....

A local computer repair shop will probably be the cheapest option.

Warranty is to cover defects in workmanship, not damage by users. Apple makes a tidy profit when iPods die (and they used to force you to re-purchase music on iTunes) or iphones crack or ... laptops break.

They are NOT going to be generous and let you bring in an obvious broken laptop and replace it unless you bought the optional AppleCare insurance package.
