Who is responsible?

I texted my landlord on the 31st and asked him if I could drop off the rent..but he said he'd let me know when he was home...and he still hasn't said anything. If he forgot am I responsible for reminding him or is that on him?

You are responsible for paying your rent on time every month. When you didn't hear back from him on the first you should have called him, not texted, but actually called him, and asked him when you could drop the rent off. No part of this is his responsibility.
