A vessel of volume 0.42m^3 contains a mixture of 4.0g of hydrogen, 4.0g of helium and 12.0g of oxygen at a temperature of 320K. Find the pressure of the vessel.
( R=8.31J mol^-1 K^-1)

No. of moles of hydrogen = 4/1 = 4
No. of moles of helium = 4/4 = 1
No. of moles of oxygen = 12/16 = 0.75
Hence, total numbe rof moles = (4 + 1 + 0.75) = 5.75

Use ideal gas equation: PV = nRT
P.(0.42) = (5.75).(8.31).(320)
i.e. P = 36400 Pa = 36.4 kPa
