Does anyone have any tips for learning a language? Japanese particularly?

Try to listen to how local Japanese people speak , and pay attention to how they pronounce words (I am not telling you to actually go to Japan, you can try to watch J Drama with subtitle first then try without one). Listen to japanese songs, try to guess the lyrics. Its how I learned how to speak Japanese

loads of practice. and then more practice.

My grandpa always said he learned Japanese by remembering one word a day. He said it doesnt sound fun but now he knows. Good luck!
