Methane gas burns in air to give carbon dioxide and water.
a) give a chemical equation
b) How can the mixture of these gases be separated


b) Which gases does it mean?? Can anyone tell me..

CH4 + 2O2 → CO2 + 2H2O

b) How can the mixture of these gases be separated
You can remove the water vapour from the mixture of gases by passing them over a desiccant such as silica gel.
This will remove the water leaving dry CO2 gas .
If you want to recover the water , heat the silica gel to 105°C which will drive the water out of the silica gel as a vapour
