Flying Internationally for the first time by myself?

Hi, I will be flying by myself for the first time in two days and I am quite nervous

I have a few concerns;

I will be flying from JFK airport (New York) to Taipei where I will make a connection and then to Hong Kong (my destination). I am flying with Eva Air all the way but another different aircraft. I am wondering will my luggage be automatically handled? Will I need to claim the bag in Taipei and goes through customs again?

Your bags will be transfered to the TSA-HKG flight by the airline.
At Taipei airport you simply need to find your boarding gate.

Baggage Clearance regulations:
Baggage is cleared at the first airport of entry in Chinese Taipei.
Exempt: baggage of transit passengers, which is cleared at the airport of final destination in or outside Chinese Taipei, provided the onward flight is on the same calendar day.
