moving out temporarily what to do with cats?

Hello, I'm moving out for two weeks while some works being done to our house and I cant work out whether it would be best to take my nine month old cat and two 8week old kittens with me to my sisters house, she already has three cats so it would mean keeping mine locked away when I am not home? is this fair on them? I thought it would be better than a cattery. It's either that or I leave them at home on their own and ask my neighbour to feed and clean their litter, but they will be unsupervised because no one will be home at all. What do you think I should do? Thanks in advance for any help.

Cats are very much place people as opposed to needing to be with their owners BUT what you do under these circumstances would depend on how you think your specific cats might react to having banging and crashing going on, and strangers around. Just know that a cattery may not want to take your kittens, and they shouldn't be in there without having had all their vaccination in any case.

Same applies really if they were to be mixing with your sisters cats. If she can let you have a spare room where the cats can be, I'd think that would be your best option. If you leave them at your place, could your neighbour be sure they'd not take off if really upset.

Hum. difficult. Thinking outside the box, would it be possible to delay this work until your kittens have been fully vaccinated (or could they go back to their breeder?) and then put them all in a decent cattery?

Why did you get new kittens knowing this was going on? Or let me guess - you didn't bother to spay this cat and YOU bred the kittens? From a nine month old kitten?

You can't leave them in the home with workers there because doors will be left open and they will escape. They're also at risk for being injured.

Find a friend that could take them but really the best thing for all of these poor kittens would be to give them up to a no-kill shelter. Doesn't sound like you have any business being a pet owner if you're letting a KITTEN breed.

If you can get a neighbor to care for them..I'd honestly leave them at home. Cats arent like dogs, they stay inside (Well most do) and they dont frequently travel, so when they do it stresses them out.

Leaving them home alone and having someone come care for them is better than stressing them out and moving them for 2 weeks.
