What vegetables can be eaten raw as part of a salad, other than the obvious ones?

I know about things like lettuce, carrots, celery, broccoli, and cauliflower, but I'm wondering about other veggies; like green beans, corn, and peas. Can they be eaten raw?

Are there any others I can use (other than spinach, which I dislike raw); things that you wouldn't otherwise thing of in a salad?

Thanks for your answers, but I need to update salads because they are getting dreadfully boring. I know of many of the obvious ones which I use, like tomatoes, onions, chick peas, bean sprouts and mushrooms (which I detest, by the way; something about it being a fungus turns me off), but I need to find something else. I like the idea of squash, but I'm also looking for ideas with other veggies.

We've all had cooked squash, and corn green/wax beans, and peas, and I've Never thought to put them uncooked into (cold) salads. For instance, as I go through the grocery store's produce section, I look at what I can think of to put into a salad.

I live on a very strict budget and can't spend the money on this, in case it comes out badly, but if any of you can say something is a good idea for a salad, I would dearly love to hear about it.

Don't eat raw kale or raw spinach, too many oxalates, boil for 3 minutes rinse in cold water. Try Vidalia onions, zucchini, sliced thin, fennel, grated beets, sprouts, diacon radish, chick peas, garlic,,sugar snap green beans and snow peas can be eaten raw

Yes, green beans, snow peas, snap peas.

Corn. You might want to blanch peas. ALL the different lettuces -- the darker have more nutrients in them.

Tomato, avacado, onions of all kind (I prefer green onion in salads). Olives.

Summer squash. Mushrooms.

of course, nuts and seeds, too.

Fresh herbs are great chopped into salad. flat leaf parsely, oregano, basil.

radishes

try different fruits, as well.

Peas and beans yes. Never heard of corn being eaten raw (at least not by humans) as it is too hard.

And don't forget dandelion leaves, before the plant blooms, are also edible.
