why adding a spring on the front of a mass then let that mass collide with another mass can reduce sound energy?(internal energy)? any calculations to prove?

rigidity will make the surfaces to vibrate?

An elastic spring acts like a soft cushion. During collision, kinetic energy of the incoming mass is transferred to the compressed spring, and which is stored temporarily as elastic potential energy in the spring.

Such stored elastic energy is then transferred back to the two colliding masses as kinetic energy. If the spring is perfectly elastic, the collision will become an "elastic collision". There is no loss of kinetic energy. As such, no impact noise is produced.

If the two masses are collising directly, their rigidity will make the surfaces
to vibrate and hence producing sound energy (impact noise).
