The counter argument is simple. In every example of a man and woman doing the same job, they both get the same pay. The source of the AAUW's complaint that women earn 70% of the pay of men is the total pay of the entire country reported by the IRS. Since more women are stay home mom's or just not working for whatever reasons due to their own choice, the difference in total pay is not any sort of conspiracy or discrimination.
